What We Do

Creating a safe and enriching community where we can all strive for our best selves and serve the common good.

The BSU is dedicated to fostering a welcoming environment for people of color and allies to appreciate and empower black culture and people. This is achieved through activities, conversations, and events that challenge ignorance about black culture and provide insight into what it is like to be black in our current society.

We want to create a supportive community at Caltech where black students can find friends and a support system to help them excel and feel confident and proud of their Black identity. Furthermore, this organization serves as a safe space for Black students where they can discuss their unique backgrounds and experiences with their peers. Lastly, we aim to connect and engage with the greater Pasadena Black community to participate in community service events.
